About

A day at the
Tiny Tribe
Each day is organized into sessions, each session is designed to take into consideration the 7 areas of learning and development as set out in the department of education statutory framework and listed below:
Three prime areas:
Communication and language
Physical development
Personal, social and emotional development
Four specific areas:
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive art and design.
Although there is always a plan for the day, this is intentionally kept fluid. This means that I can take into account how the children are feeling, mood, weather and anything specific that the children have been doing at home or something that is of interest to them in the moment. Different children attend on different days and this can really change the tribes dynamic and what we do. Sometimes when the children see each other they remember a shared experience from the last visit and want to pick up where the left off. This can often be a running game or dancing to a particular song. I roll with this and maybe steer or make suggestions to enrich the learning experience.
